Fin Monitors vs Supportman

The Fin Monitors alternative: a second opinion that isn’t Fin.

Monitors is part of Fin’s Analyze bundle, alongside Insights and Recommendations.

Monitors is the QA layer inside Fin (formerly Intercom). You point it at a random sample or at signals like low CX scores, repeated escalations or weak answers, and it checks those conversations against a scorecard, graded by Fin, by a human reviewer, or both. Intercom’s own article calls it "the filtering layer", and it shows Fin’s reasoning behind each AI-graded criterion.

That is useful, and it is still Fin grading Fin. Supportman is an independent check that lives in Slack: every Intercom CSAT rating posted the moment it lands, an AI quality score on every closed conversation against your rubric, and the bad-rating rate for Fin-handled conversations next to human-only ones. It runs alongside Monitors; you don’t have to choose.

Straight talk

Which is better, Fin Monitors or Supportman?

If you want to review Fin’s answers where you already configure Fin, Monitors is the natural tool: templates for weekly Fin reviews, low answer quality, escalation handling and looping, Fin’s reasoning behind each score, and an Issue tracker that routes a bad answer straight to a content or procedure fix. Supportman doesn’t replace that workflow. It gives you a number Fin didn’t produce, in the Slack channels your team already reads.

Why teams add an outside check

Fin’s QA grades Fin. Someone else should too.

With Fin Monitors

  • The vendor grading its own AI agent, using its own scorecards and reasoning
  • Intercom notes Monitors can’t connect patterns across conversations, so human review is still needed
  • Results and Issues live inside Fin (Fin AI Agent › Analyze › Monitors); Slack delivery isn’t documented
  • Analyze pricing isn’t shown on fin.ai; there is a free trial

With Supportman

  • Independent of the AI agent it measures
  • Every CSAT rating in Slack in real time, Fin-answered or human
  • AI quality score (IQS) on every closed conversation, your rubric
  • Fin vs human-only bad-rating rate, side by side
  • Published per-user pricing from $5/user/mo, self-serve

Fin Monitors vs Supportman pricing, side by side.

Fin does not show a price for the Analyze bundle (Insights, Monitors, Recommendations) on fin.ai/analyze; it offers a free trial. Which Fin plans include Monitors is not covered here: check with Fin. Supportman lists per-user pricing on the site, with no outcome billing.

FAQ

Fin Monitors vs Supportman, answered.

Q.01

What are Fin Monitors?

A Fin feature that narrows your conversations down to the ones worth reviewing, by random sample or by signals like low CX scores and repeated escalations, and checks them against a scorecard. Grading can be done by Fin, by a human reviewer, or both. Monitors is part of Fin’s Analyze bundle.

Q.02

Why use an independent check if Fin already has Monitors?

Because Monitors is Fin grading Fin. An outside score, graded against your own rubric by a tool with no stake in Fin’s resolution numbers, is a second opinion you can compare against Fin’s.

Q.03

Does Supportman replace Monitors?

No. Use Monitors to fix Fin’s answers inside Fin. Use Supportman for real-time CSAT in Slack and an independent quality score on every closed conversation, human or Fin.

Q.04

Can Supportman audit Fin today?

Not as a self-serve audit; that is coming soon. Today Supportman scores every closed Intercom conversation, including Fin-answered ones, and compares the bad-rating rate for Fin-handled and human-only conversations. You can sign up now and we will tell you when the Fin audit is ready.

Q.05

Which Fin plans include Monitors?

We don’t state that here, because we could not verify it across plans. Check fin.ai/analyze or ask your Fin account team.
