Salesforce Service Cloud vs Supportman

A focused alternative to Salesforce's own resolution scoring.

Salesforce completed its acquisition of Fin (formerly Intercom) on 10 September 2026, adding Fin's AI agent alongside Agentforce.

Salesforce Service Cloud has every primitive you'd need to track a customer's problem across cases: parent/child cases, accounts, milestones, custom objects, flows. It also now owns Fin (the AI agent formerly known as Intercom, acquired 10 September 2026), and its Agentforce Help Agent bills roughly $2.80 per resolution it counts on its own. None of that is an opinionated, automatic "this is still the same problem" experience out of the box — you'd have to build it.

Supportman doesn't compete with Salesforce as a CRM or case system. It's a focused Intercom + Slack tool: real-time CSAT/DSAT alerts, AI quality scoring on every closed conversation, and, in build now, Problem Episodes that flag when a "resolved" case comes back or a promise gets forgotten, without configuring a single case-object schema.

Configuration vs. out of the box

The primitives exist. Nobody wired them together for you.

With Salesforce Service Cloud

  • Every "problem stays linked" behavior has to be configured: cases, milestones, and flows are primitives, not a shipped feature
  • Per-seat pricing stacks fast — Agentforce for Service runs roughly $125/user/mo† on top of a Service Cloud edition ($25–$550/user/mo)
  • Its Help Agent bills roughly $2.80 per resolution† that it counts itself
  • Enterprise sales motion and implementation, typically through a systems integrator
  • A full CRM/case-management platform to adopt just to get support quality signal; Quality Management is bundled only in the top Max edition

With Supportman

  • No configuration: connect Intercom + Slack and ratings start flowing in minutes
  • Published per-user pricing from $5/user/mo, no implementation partner needed
  • AI quality scoring on every closed conversation, against your own rubric
  • Building Problem Episodes: automatic linking of one customer's conversations into one tracked problem
  • Self-serve, no sales call
Price comparison

Salesforce Service Cloud vs Supportman pricing, side by side.

Service Cloud editions (Starter, Pro, Core, Advanced, Max) run $25–$550/user/mo, and Quality Management comes bundled in the top Max edition rather than as a lightweight add-on. Agentforce for Service is roughly $125/user/mo† on top, with its Help Agent billed at about $2.80 per resolution† it counts itself. Supportman is a single published per-user price with no platform underneath it to buy.

Straight talk

When Salesforce Service Cloud is the better pick.

If you're already running your business on Salesforce and want support cases to plug directly into the same accounts, opportunities, and Agentforce automation your sales and success teams use, Service Cloud is the obvious, powerful choice — and now that it owns Fin, that story gets stronger for Intercom-style AI support too. Supportman isn't trying to be a CRM. It's a narrow, Intercom + Slack tool for teams who want quality signal and, soon, problem-level tracking, without adopting or configuring Salesforce.

FAQ

Salesforce Service Cloud vs Supportman, answered.

Q.01

Does Supportman integrate with Salesforce Service Cloud?

Not yet. Supportman is Intercom-native today. Salesforce support is on our roadmap, but we don't have a committed date. If you're evaluating both, Supportman works well for the Intercom side of your stack right now.

Q.02

What is Agentforce, and how is it priced?

Agentforce is Salesforce's AI agent layer for Service Cloud. Third-party reporting puts Agentforce for Service at roughly $125 per user per month on top of a Service Cloud seat, with its Help Agent billed at about $2.80 per resolution it counts; those Agentforce figures are not independently verified against a current Salesforce price list. The Service Cloud editions themselves are published at $25–$550 per user per month, with Quality Management included in the Max edition.

Q.03

Does Salesforce track whether a case is still open after it's marked resolved?

Not out of the box. The primitives exist — parent/child cases, milestones, flows — to build that yourself, but it isn't an automatic, opinionated feature the way Supportman's Problem Episodes are being built to be.

Q.04

Is Salesforce Service Cloud the same as Fin?

No. Fin (formerly Intercom) is a separate AI support product that Salesforce acquired on 10 September 2026. It runs standalone on Fin’s own helpdesk, Zendesk, Freshdesk, and HubSpot, as well as inside Salesforce.

Q.05

How does Supportman's approach differ from Salesforce's Help Agent billing?

Help Agent counts and bills for its own resolutions, at roughly $2.80 each†. Supportman doesn't resolve anything — it scores conversations against your rubric and, with Problem Episodes, checks the evidence in later conversations before calling a problem resolved.

Q.06

Is there a free trial?

Yes, for Supportman on Intercom: connect Intercom and Slack and you’re live in under two minutes, no credit card required.
