CSAT Tracking in Intercom for Small Support Teams

Enterprise teams have BI dashboards and dedicated analysts. Small support teams have a Slack channel and thirty open tabs. You still need CSAT visibility — you just do not have the bandwidth to build reporting infrastructure.

— Use case —

Weekly reporting habit

  1. 1Open Intercom Reports → Customer satisfaction at the end of each week.
  2. 2Export or copy rating data into a spreadsheet to calculate team and individual averages.
  3. 3Share a summary in Slack or cover it in your weekly team standup.

The problem: Weekly is too slow. By the time a low CSAT pattern shows up in a spreadsheet, the agent who caused it has handled another fifty conversations.

With Supportman

Real-time CSAT visibility in Slack with zero reporting overhead. Each rating posts as it arrives, tagged to the assignee — plus Friday team reports so small teams get trends without a spreadsheet.

  1. Connect Supportman to your Intercom workspace and Slack (OAuth, two clicks).
  2. Pick your main ratings channel in the Supportman App Home — ratings post automatically, no exports.
  3. Use the channel thread to discuss scores with your team; Friday reports land with volume, FRT, and CSAT per agent.
Quick recap

Turn on CSAT in Intercom however you already send surveys — Supportman gives your small team live ratings in Slack and a weekly snapshot without building reporting infrastructure.

— Common questions —

Do I need to turn on CSAT in Intercom before using Supportman?

Yes. Enable Ask for conversation rating in Fin AI Agent → Simple Automation, or send surveys via a Workflow. Supportman listens for rating webhooks and posts results to Slack — it does not turn on CSAT or send surveys for you.

Can Supportman replace Intercom Reports?

No. Supportman gives your team live ratings in Slack and Friday team reports for weekly trends. Intercom Reports remains the place for deep analysis, exports, and historical filtering — Supportman complements it rather than replacing it.

Can I see a running average alongside each rating?

Individual Slack posts show one rating at a time. For running averages and trends, use Supportman Friday team reports or Intercom Reports.

Connect Slack and Intercom – that's the whole setup.
